Your Questions Answered
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash or debit card. All payments should be made to the café staff, for garden entrance and plant sales as well as for food and drinks. Please pay your entrance fee before entering the garden.
Do I have to visit the garden to buy plants or eat at the cafe?
No - the plant nursery can be accessed without entering the garden and the café is open to those who do not wish to go round the garden.
How long do you recommend it takes to walk around the garden?
You should allow 1 - 1.5 hours for the main garden and a further 30 minutes to see the new gardens under development. Whilst the main garden covers about 5 acres, there are many pathways to explore and benches to sit on and take in the tranquility of the garden. Watching the cuckoo going through its routine will also take about 15 minutes.
The new gardens are being created around the brook as it meanders through our property but please bear in mind this area is a work in progress with much still to do.
Is there more information available regarding Westonbury Mill?
Yes. You can pick up a leaflet in the café or other sites around Herefordshire. We also provide maps of the garden to help you navigate your way around and you can also pick up an information sheet regarding our plans to develop the pasture. These are available in the café and we ask that you return them when you leave.
The gardens are mostly flat and all bridges can be crossed by wheelchairs although the bridge next to the Mill House is a little steep. Please ask any member of staff for directions. Most pathways are grass so it may become difficult when wet. We have improved access to the toilet by installing a ramp into that part of the building. There is a disabled parking bay available.
Can we bring a picnic rather than eat at the cafe?
Yes. We have placed benches on the front lawn that may be used for picnics, rather than the benches in front of the café.
Are dogs allowed in the garden?
Yes. Dogs on leads are welcome in the garden. Please bring your own bags and dispose of any waste in the bin in front of the café.
Is the garden accessible to disabled visitors?
Do Groups need to book?
No, but most call in advance to let us know., particularly if they plan to eat at the café. There is a group rate available - see Visitor Information for up to date pricing. The owner is also willing to provide groups with an introductory talk free of charge, before or after they have been round the garden. There is ample parking available for coaches.
Do you offer season tickets?
Yes, they are available for singles, couples or a family of up to four. Prices can be found in the Visitor Information section. Please ask at the café if you wish to buy a season ticket.
